I have developed love for nursing as a child. This profession is distinct in a way that it gives the opportunity, in fact the privilege, to help people when they need it most. Despite all the difficulties I encountered during my studies and work, I cannot imagine myself doing any other job.

Nurses will play a key role in health promotion and disease prevention, providing nursing care and support to people with illness. I am happy that our education has evolved to the academic level, while a lot of effort and significant financial resources are being invested in that.

I am extremely glad to be familiar with the Strengthening Nursing in BIH Project/Fami Foundation’s work. The project provides assistance, organizes trainings, purchases equipment and invests in nursing workforce. I hope that it will remain in BIH for as long as possible. I am personally honored to be a member of the working groups for the harmonization of the first and second cycle curricula with EU standards. Also, the scholarship granted by the project has been a real wind at my back and will help me complete my PhD studies easier and sooner.

It is important now to synchronize the health and education systems so that the health system recognizes higher nurse education in terms of the assigned duties, tasks and responsibilities and their complexity.
