Today we mark World Hepatitis Day – July 28, a global awareness day dedicated to education and the collective fight against one of the deadliest infectious diseases of our time.
World Hepatitis Day aims to raise public awareness about the seriousness of viral hepatitis, especially types B and C, which claim more than one million lives worldwide each year. It is an opportunity to highlight the importance of prevention, early detection, and access to treatment, as well as to strengthen efforts to eliminate hepatitis as a public health threat.
On this occasion, we spoke with nurses and medical technicians who work on the front lines of healthcare every day. Their role in this process is invaluable – through education, counselling, testing, and patient support, they directly contribute to protecting public health and saving lives.
