The Embassy of Switzerland in Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrated the National Day of Switzerland. This year, Switzerland celebrates its 733rd birthday. The celebration, organized in the Botanical Garden of the National Museum, traditionally gathered numerous guests from the political, public and cultural life of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Swiss people living in BiH, friends and partners of Switzerland from the government sector, civil society and the international community in the country, and members of the Swiss Army at EUFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Guests from Switzerland also joined the celebration of the National Day - parliamentarian Thierry Burkart, member of the Upper House of the Swiss Parliament and president of the Liberal Democratic Party of Switzerland, and Lieutenant General Laurent Michaud, deputy commander and head of the operational command of the Swiss Army. The National Day of Switzerland is also an opportunity to remind ourselves of the values that make Switzerland strong and united," added Ambassador Daniel Hunn, for whom this was also a farewell celebration considering that he is leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina after four years in office.
