Training for 35 nurses has started at the Educational Center of the Primary Health Care Center (PHCC) Tuzla. Through theoretical and practical training, participants will improve their skills in providing nursing care to patients in home environment, which is of particular importance for the elderly, chronically ill and partially mobile.

Participants work at 10 PHCCs in Tuzla Canton and one PHCC in the Posavina Canton. The training consists of interactive lectures,
simulations of real situations and field work, supported by experienced mentors from the Educational Center.

The goal of this program is to increase the availability of health care services, especially for patients in remote and rural areas, with often difficult access to health institutions. Through this type of training, nurses acquire additional competencies for providing quality and timely care in patients' homes.

This important program is supported by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the Federal Ministry of Health and Fami Foundation.

Thanks to this initiative, healthcare providers have opportunity for professional development while the patients in local communities will benefit from better and more efficient care in their homes.
