Our team visited primary health care centers in Bihac and Travnik to discuss improvement of community nursing services in the areas of Una-Sana Canton and Central Bosnia Canton. The purpose of these visits was to evaluate the potential of these institutions to become educational centers for additional education in community nursing.

During the visits, the team held meetings with the management representatives of both institutions. We discussed the current situation in the provision of health care services, the challenges faced, and the opportunities for improvement through additional education and project support.

The Primary Health Care Center Bihac provides primary health care to the population of Bihac town and the surrounding area. Their commitment to patients is reflected in various projects and programs focused on improvement of healthcare services. The importance of the continuous education of health professionals in achieving high quality community nursing was highlighted during the meeting.

The Primary Health Care Center Travnik is the largest institution in the Central Bosnia Canton that provides primary health care and specialists’ consultation services. The management of this institution expressed their willingness to cooperate in projects aimed at improving community nursing services, especially through the education of health professionals.

Based on these visits, the following steps have been defined:
• Organization of workshops: We plan to hold workshops with partners at the cantonal levels to identify specific education needs and develop customized training programs.
• Development of educational materials: We will prepare materials that will serve as resources for health professionals in providing high-quality community nursing services.
• Continuous support: We will continue to support primary health care centers in implementing new knowledge and skills through mentoring and counseling.

These activities are intended to ensure that health professionals in Una-Sana and Central Bosnia cantons are adequately trained to provide high-quality community nursing services, which will directly contribute to improving the health of the population in these areas.
