As a part of the Community Nursing Improvement Program in Tuzla Canton, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Health and Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project's Component B visited primary health care centers in Kalesija, Banovici and Zivinice.

During this visit, they met with the management of the healthcare institutions, and used the opportunity to make a comprehensive review of the activities implemented so far within the project, as well as to discuss the plans for the upcoming period. Special focus was placed on sustainability aspects and further development of community nursing, as a key segment of primary health care.

The managements of primary health care centers in all three municipalities expressed gratitude for the continuous support provided so far, with special emphasis on the importance of training for nurses organized by the project. They also expressed satisfaction with the announcement of a new donation of medical and other equipment used in home visits, which will further improve the capacities of healthcare teams in the field.

Representatives of local authorities also attended the meetings in Kalesija and Zivinice and confirmed their commitment to continue supporting these important activities in the community. The need for even stronger coordination of all stakeholders was highlighted to ensure the long-term sustainability and development of nursing practice in line with modern standards and population needs.

Visits like this demonstrate that Strengthening Nursing in BiH project continues to jointly support the development of high quality, more accessible and more humane community nursing. Together, we strengthen nursing and build the foundations for better healthcare for the entire population.
