Professional and useful lectures, exercises, a great atmosphere and socializing describe another workshop on the improvement of andragogic skills for nurses in Republika Srpska conducted in the previous period within Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project.
The second consecutive workshop on andragogic skills was attended by head nurses from public health institutions, primary health care centers, hospitals in Republika Srpska and the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska. Among the participants were also Representatives of the Nurses Association of Republika Srpska, Nursing Union of RS and the Special Surgical Hospital dr. Kostic.
The participants had nine theoretical and practical modules and one module of preparation for a role of teacher; that is a total of 48 hours of lectures, practical exercises, class preparation and consultation. These modules enabled the participants to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for more effective work in education and mentoring, as well as for the provision of high-quality nursing care.
The program was carefully designed to include all key aspects of andragogic practice, with a special emphasis on methodical training, interactive learning techniques and the application of modern educational tools in the health sector.
At the end of the successfully completed training, Dr. Milan Latinovic, Assistant Minister handed in certificates to 23 participants on behalf of the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska.
Continuation of the project activities include additional trainings, workshops and initiatives, and the focus will be on further professionalization of the nursing profession crucial for the stability and quality of the health system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
