In cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska, Fami Foundation organized three half-day practical workshops on wound treatment for eight primary health care centers from Republika Srpska.

The lecturer was Smilja Marinkovic,  graduate nurse, Head Nurse of the Cardiac Surgery Clinic of the University Hospital of Republika Srpska. The workshops were organized for 57 participants from the primary health care centers Gradiska, Doboj and Prnjavor. There are different types of wounds, each has its own characteristics and requires an appropriate approach to treatment and care. Proper wound treatment is important in order to achieve a faster healing and prevent infections or complications. Wound management includes cleaning, disinfection, covering and sometimes suturing or other medical intervention, depending on the type and severity of the wound.
