The Community Nursing Department at the Banja Luka Primary Health Care Center (PHCC) was established several years ago to improve nursing care outside the PHCC and to provide support to citizens in their regular environment. From the very beginning, challenges and limited resources follow the work of this department but the strong engagement of nurses and doctors is present as well.
Thanks to the dedicated work of nurses, the department is today recording continuous progress. Over the years, the number of employees has increased, numerous training has been implemented, the scope and type of services have been expanded, and the number of citizens who receive community nursing services has increased. This development confirms the importance of the role of nurses in improving the availability and quality of nursing care.
Fami Foundation has been cooperating with the PHCC Banja Luka since 2016, when training for 40 nurses in community nursing was implemented. As part of this cooperation, nursing bags and community nursing vehicles were donated improving working conditions for community nurses.
The cooperation will continue in the coming period, through the planned training of new nurses and the donation of nursing sets, to further improve the quality and efficiency of community nursing.
