In the past eight days, the examination committee of the Federal Ministry of Health, consisted of Asmira Mehadzic, Emina Mujcinovic and Amra Felic from the Educational Center of Primary Health Care Center Bihac, conducted the final exam as part of additional training in community nursing.

Twenty eight nurses from primary health care centers Bihac, Velika Kladusa, Sanski Most, Cazin, Kljuc, Bosanski Petrovac, Bosanska Krupa, Buzim, Domaljevac-Samac and Jablanica, who had previously successfully completed the theoretical and practical part of the training took the exam.

This is a professional development program designed to strengthen nurses’ competencies to work in the community with a special focus on community nursing, home visits, disease prevention, health promotion and support provision to patients and their families in their standard environment.

During the training, the participants acquired modern knowledge and practical skills in the field of community nursing, communication with patients, working with vulnerable categories of the population, as well as planning person tailored care in line with the needs of health service beneficiaries. Special attention was paid to the role of community nurses in early recognition of health risks and continuous support to the population at the local level.

The successful completion of this training cycle represents a significant contribution to strengthening primary health care in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the segment of accessibility of nursing care in home setting and improving the quality of services in local communities.

The newly trained staff will, through their daily work, further strengthen the health system, improve the connection between health institutions and citizens and contribute to greater availability of professional care where it is needed the most.

We congratulate all participants on successful completion of the exam and trust that the acquired knowledge and skills will be a strong support to patients and the local communities they work at.
