The main event marking May 12th, the International Nurses Day organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska was held Trebinje. More than 130 nurses and healthcare facilities’ managers in Republika Srpska took part in the celebration. “It is precisely their work, knowledge and training that should be constantly improved for the benefit of all citizens”, underlined Alen Seranic, Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska.

A demonstration for the citizens, organized by the Resuscitation Council of Republika Srpska, on how to provide emergency medical assistance before arrival of the health professionals was performed in the center of Trebinje. The celebration was also the opportunity to hand in the certificates for successful completion of training in adult learning skills for nurses. The training was organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska and supported by the Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project. The Project is implemented by the Consortium of Fami Foundation and the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) and funded by the Government of Switzerland.
