Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina Project (ProSes) has shared its experience of establishing / strengthening
community nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Republic of Moldova. Aldina Bukva-Mahmutovic, ProSes Community Nursing Component Manager, visited Kishinev during her short visit to Moldova on 7 June 2018. At the meeting of the Community Nursing Working Group of partners in Moldova she shared the relevant experience of BIH and presented advantages and limitations of the two existing BIH models for community nursing services provision– within family medicine teams and by separate patronage nurse teams.

The Healthy Life ("Yiatasan") Project, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), is a part of the ongoing reform of the primary health care system in Moldova. It is being jointly implemented by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) and the Ministry of Work, Health and Social Welfare of Moldova along with other partners. The project is focused on the increased chronic diseases of nowadays life, preventive and integrated health care and collaboration with the community.

The Nurses in Moldova are still mostly involved in a care for ill population and are not enough involved in a preventive and promotional health care, while their potential to link the family medicine and the community is insufficiently utilized. Therefore, the experience of the countries that have undertaken / or are in the process of the similar reform, just like Bosnia and Herzegovina and Romania are, is of a great significance for Moldova.
