From June 1-4, 2023 in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska, four-day training on "Development of Management Skills in Nursing" was held at "Sveti Vracevi" Hospital in Bijeljina. Participants had the opportunity to discuss numerous topics such as human resource management, planning, challenges and motivation in management, nurses’ communication, and the impact of modern trends in health care on management in nursing.
In order to support the improvement of the health system and the quality of services delivered to end users, it is crucial to have competent and reliable managers and leaders among the nursing workforce. The training goal is to strengthen nurses’ management and communication skills with colleagues, co-workers, patients and the media. Head nurses from the health institutions in Republika Srpska had the opportunity to attend professional and high-quality lectures and practical work by Dr. Milana Latinovic, prof. Dr. Zlatko Maksimovic, prof. PhD Zvezdana Rajkovaca, Mirjana Jankovic, Branka Sladojevic and Jelena Vujic.
A series of trainings, within the Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project component that covers the development of nurses’ management and leadership capabilities, are envisioned in order to strengthen management skills of the nurses’ at all health care levels.
